Henry Ford

History.com’s article on Henry Ford stated that he was born in Dearborn, Michigan and is noted in the history books as the founder of the Ford Motor company. Henry Ford wrote, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, either way you’re right”. In the article on Henry Ford on History.com, they talk about how he would “revolutionize American industries” from having an assembly line and increasing wages. This inventor is known for many things but one major thing he is known for is the Model T automobile. Another section in the “Henry Ford” article on history.com announced that Henry Ford was hated and criticized for his political views. Ford also bought a newspaper and expressed his admiration of Adolf Hitler; A few years later, in 1938, he accepted the grand cross of the German eagle (“Henry Ford”).

This phrase, "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, either way you're right," has a meaning of whether or not you can or can’t do something having the thought of being able to do something is right. When you try to do something it doesn’t matter whether you’re right or wrong because the lesson taught is better than the achievement. Being able to try and accomplish something or even having a plan and letting other people do it, there is no right or wrong way because you are discovering or trying something new and nobody will get it perfect the first time. Believe in yourself and you can never be wrong. Once you believe in yourself anything you set your mind to can come true.

History.com stated that Henry Ford thought he could build a car or “quadricycle.” In 1896, he made an automobile instead and established his Ford Motor company, coming out with the Model T car. After that automobiles took off. Having this idea was crazy and some had doubts about whether or not he could or could not make it successful. Mr. Ford was going to find out and for that he invented his version of an automobile. With one single idea he made history and that is what I believe lead him to say his inspirational quote.

Throughout my childhood, I have played many sports and have done many activities with my community. Being in sports, I had a chance to become a leader, whether you thought you were a good one or not.  Leaders are people that others listen to and look up to. As a leader, you can influence others into following in your footsteps. The mind can play tricks on you but as long as you follow your path and become a leader then you have already “won the battle”.
